Tavertine or Porcelain in Shower. advice

Please pardon me if this issue has been addressed somewhere else in this forum. I am new to this and (http://maplered.com) just signed on.

BUt i am torn between porcelain or tavertine. I love natural Stone (http://g603.net) but am concerned that it will require alot of work..at least that is what  the people told me at the tile shop.

If someone does recommend tavertine, then what are the important points to consider in the installaiton to make sure its done right?
